A DENBY-based skincare firm has held a fun event and raised £1,000 for a skin cancer charity.
Trainees at Deb, of Denby Hall Way, organised events, including a sun safety quiz, a dress down day, and the Man Tan Challenge. They also helped lay on an ice cream van, cupcakes and a raffle with prizes donated by Makeney Hall and Denby Pottery, among others.
All the proceeds were donated to Nottingham-based skin cancer charity Skcin.
The main objective of the charity is to ensure the dangers of over-exposure to the sun are given greater profile, with the emphasis on the vital early detection of skin cancer. To learn more about the charity visit www.skcin.org.
Jeff Bell, a managing director at Deb, presented the cheque to Skcin’s Antony Hubbard. Two organisers, Deborah Freeman and Deborah Rogers, were unavailable for the presentation.
