Crich Junior School has been named as a Flagship School for the Food for Life Partnership, which encourages children to grow and cook their own food.
It picked up a silver award from television presenter and organic gardener Bob Flowerdew at a ceremony at Aston Villa Football Club, in Birmingham, on Wednesday.
Every pupil has a responsibility for their own vegetable plot, where they plan, plant, tender and harvest their own produce. The produce is used in cookery lessons and school dinners, or by the local community centre or local bakery, The Loaf.
