Belper MP Pauline Latham has enjoyed a ‘really good school dinner’ in Allestree.
For the Tory Mid-Derbyshire constituency representative went along to Woodlands School to help launch the ‘Really Good School Dinner’ campaign.
Pupils at the school have been invited to pay an extra 10p for a school meal next month, as part of their mission to help those less fortunate than themselves in Uganda.
For every 10p donated the World Food Program will be able to provide a nutritious school meal for a child in a developing country.
Mrs Latham took part in the school assembly, gave a presentation to the A-Level politics class, attended a cookery class, and collected donations for the cause.
She said: “I was thrilled to launch this excellent campaign with Woodlands, and I was so proud to see the students portray such a caring approach towards children who are less fortunate. The campaign has already raised more than £21,000 and I am extremely proud that we will be able to increase these figure even more!”
