A 58-year-old tiler from Cromford has been handed a long road ban following his second drink-driving offence in seven years.
Police saw a car pull out from near the Bell Inn pub, Cromford, at 11pm on September 18 and followed it.
Chesterfield magistrates heard there was no evidence of bad driving but it was stopped on The Hill and driver Peter Slaven smelled of drink. He gave a reading of 200mgs of alcohol in 100mls of urine - the limit is 107mgs.
Self-employed Slaven, of Hawthorne Drive, admitted drink-driving. He committed the same offence in 2004.
He was banned from driving for 40 months and fined £200.
