Driver in court over Liam’s death

A woman who caused the death of a 16-year-old boy by careless driving has been ordered to carry out community work by a court.

Sandra Matthews, 56, was sentenced to 160 hours of unpaid work following the accident on October 23 last year in Far Laund, Belper, which claimed the life of Liam Porter.

Matthews,of Ladywood Avenue, Belper was also disqualified from driving for two years during a hearing at Derby Crown Court on Monday, June 3 and will have to take an extended driving test before being allowed back on the road again.
