Organisers have labelled this year’s Duffield Carnival a “fantastic spectacle”.
Saturday’s parade was the culmination of a month-long celebration which began way back at the start of June with the crowning of carnival princess Lily Gent and her attendants Lara Eley and Lilly Sayers.
The carnival itself offered plenty for the young at heart - this year’s theme was children’s books and comics.
And participants certainly let their imagination run wild, with fantastic colourful costumes depicting characters from such classics as Harry Potter, Where’s Wally and Alice in Wonderland, to name but three.
The fun continued throughout the afternoon and into the evening, with a full programme of arena events and attractions taking place at Eyes Meadow.
Commenting on Facebook afterwards, a spokesperson for the organisers said: “A massive thank-you to all the performers, stall-holders, supporters, attendees and everyone else who helped to make Duffield Carnival a fantastic spectacle for all.
“We hope you have all enjoyed the event and we hope to see you again next year.”
A service in the marquee at Eyes Meadow on Sunday morning, organised by the five churches of Duffield, concluded the 2015 festivities.
