BOOK-MAD youngsters who completed a summer reading challenge at Belper Library have been presented with a certificate and a medal.
The children took part in the Circus Stars challenge, which was organised by Derbyshire County Council.
They had to read as many books as possible throughout the summer holidays, and those who read six received the medal and certificate.
A spokeswoman for the library said: “It went really well.
“We run an event each year for the school summer holidays encouraging children to read.
“All the children were a pleasure and they seemed to enjoy doing it.”
As part of the challenge, every time a child completed a book they took a card into the library to be stamped. They were also given a prize, such as a yo-yo.
