Long Row Primary School PTA refused to be beaten when their Olympics themed Summer Fair had to move into the hall due to a waterlogged sports field. Games included pin the medal on the athlete, beat the goalie, and a giant slide. with raffles prizes including a rugby ball signed by Martin Johnson, a cricket bat signed by Tim Bresnan and a football signed by the current Derby County squad. The fair also included a jam jar tombola, face painting, cake and book stalls, a bar and hot and cold food.

David Higley, joint Chair of the PTA said “Despite the terrible weather of the past few weeks sadly making us have to cancel many of the sporty activities, the rain held off for the actual event and the fair was a great success, raising over £1,000 for some much needed new playground adventure equipment. Many thanks to the team who helped organise and run the event and everyone who braved the weather to support the school and make the fair a great success!”
