egg-cited youngsters from a Belper nursery showed off their Easter bonnets during a parade.
The children, aged two and three and from the Happy Hippos group at Alton Manor Day Nursery, on Gregory’s Way, went to a park near the nursery to show off their creations.
The bonnets, which were made with help from parents, came in a variety of egg-cellent designs.
Nursery cook Gail Holmes judged the entrants and awarded first prize to Grace Clarke, two.
Second and third place prizes went to Emily Waite, two, and Dylan Stone, two, respectively. All three won an Easter egg, while the other children were given mini-chocolate eggs.
Katie Salmon, the nursery’s deputy manager, said: “It was brilliant. It was about having fun and getting parents involved. They came along and watched the children do their parade.”
