Elderly residents can get pampered feet

Older residents in Amber Valley can have healthier feet thanks to a joint venture between Age UK and Futures Homescape, which will now run until August 2012.

Under the ‘Tootsies’ initiative, feet-conscious residents can get reduced prices on foot soaks, nail cutting, hard skin removal and foot massages.

It costs £17 for the first session and £12 afterwards and is less than half the cost of a private chiropodist.

The service is already up and running community centres in Belper and Crich.

It is also underway in nearby Heanor, Ripley, Alfreton and Langley Mill.

It will be starting soon in Horsley Woodhouse, as well as in nearby Ironville.
