A family brushed aside the competition to claim three out of four prizes at Heage Windmill Arts Challenge.

Steven Land, from South Normanton, came second in the adult category with his watercolour of the landmark while daughter Rebecca was third. Meanwhile, son Thomas won the Junior class with his masterpiece.

Contestants had just four hours to complete the challenge and the overall winner of the adult category was Stephen Allen, from Denby.

Windmill trustee, Alan Gifford, said: “Clearly the Land’s may have a landslide effect on the arty world in the future!

“All the winners won cash prizes and received a Heage medal to mark their success.”
