Fire crew tackles Coxbench car blaze

Firefighters were called after a car went up in flames in Coxbench.

A crew from Derby spent more than half an hour extinguishing the blaze in Coxbench Road when it broke out shortly before 11pm on Friday, December 7.

When they arrived the vehicle was well alight.

However, after putting on breathing apparatus and dowsing the flames the crew managed to extinguish the fire by 11.20pm.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.

No–one was reported as being hurt.

FIREFIGHTERS spent 30 minutes tackling a burning car.

Crews from Nottingham Road station, in Derby, were called to the incident, in Coxbench Road, Coxbench, shortly before 11pm last night.

When they arrived the vehicle was well alight.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus managed to extinguish the flames by 11.20pm.

Police were also called to attend and the cause is not yet known.

No-one was reported as hurt.
