five dedicated and kind-hearted women from a charity shop in Belper have been recognised for their long service.
Frances Ashton, Jean Arnot, Pauline Bradshaw, June Parkin and Donna Shaw have been volunteering at the British Red Cross shop on King Street for a total of 30 years between them.
A party was held at the Lion Hotel, on Bridge Street in Belper, to celebrate their achievement.
Frances was celebrating ten years service, while the other four were rewarded for their five years each.
Rose Robinson, the manager of the shop, said: “I want to thank them all for everything they have done in their time in the shop.
“I have really enjoyed working with every one of them.”
The British Red Cross organisation helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. It has recently donated £150,000 to people affected by the unrest in Libya.
