WEDDING anniversaries through the ages were celebrated as part of a flower festival at Belper’s Central Methodist Church.
Supporters of the church showed off impressive blooms alongside various wedding dresses as part of the event, which ran across the Bank Holiday weekend.
The eight anniversaries chosen for displays at the event were Pearl, Silver, Gold, China, Cotton, Diamond, Sapphire and Ruby.
Refreshments were laid on in the schoolroom to the rear of the chapel and admiission was free to entice more visitors into the church.
The church is set to hold its annual general meeting this Saturday (May 12) at 6pm.
In March, a report by the Office for National Statistics showed that after 40 years of decline, the number of weddings increased by 3.7 per cent in a year.
