The Heanor and District 50 plus forum is looking for new members.
The group, which meets four times a year, is holding a special meeting for those interested on June 24, at Heanor Welfare Centre, Wilmot Street, Heanor, from 6pm to 8pm and will feature discussions about future speakers and trips.
Treasurer Glenys Tucker said: “The forum is open to all people in the area who are over the age of 50 and our aim is to give them a voice - to make people hear what we want as opposed to what other people want. We are desperate for new committee members. We need new blood and new ideas.
“We have speakers like the police, the Trusted Traders, health trainers and we have fun activities like florists and chocolatiers. If our members want it - we will try and get it.”
On the night a cheese and biscuits supper is provided and there will be opportunities to have a go at activities like badminton, table tennis, bowls, card making and knitting. A range of shopping and information stalls will also be on offer. Free transport is available if you are disabled. Call 01629 532049 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
