EXCITED youngsters at a Belper nursery got a visit from an ice cream van as part of an event to celebrate summer.
The children at Ladybird pre-school, on Alton Road, took part in activities to mark the arrival of the warmer months.
And the main attraction was when Emma’s Ice Cream turned up to serve lollies.
Also, children told stories about their own holiday experiences and played with shells and sand.
They were also given money so they could make their own decision about whether to buy a lolly or ice cream.
Pre-school manager Beth Woodfine said: “It was fabulous even though it rained. But then that it was the British summer is about!”
