Gardens open in Whatstandwell

A NUMBER of Whatstandwell’s hidden gardens will be open to the public for a day next month in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Visitors will have a chance to explore several stunning hillside gardens between 2pm and 6pm on Sunday, June 5.

The event has been organised by Whatstandwell Social Club. All gardens will be clearly marked.

It costs £3.50 for adults, with accompanied children going free. Any dogs must be on leads. Tickets are available from the first garden you visit or from Crich Carr Primary School, Main Road, Whatstandwell.

The gardens are mainly sloping and visitors will see shrubberies, herbaceous borders, lawns and patios, containers, orchards, vegetable plots and wild areas. There will be table top sales, plant sales, teas and cakes.
