Get in the pink at city's festival
DERBY Goes Pink returns for a second year on Saturday, July 4, with organisers expecting more than 4,000 people to take part.
The annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender festival is being held at Bass's Recreation Ground, just a short walk from Derby city centre and the railway station.
Among those expected to attend the event will be Derby's very own Howard Ebison, one of the stars of this year's series of The Apprentice on BBC1.
Derby Goes Pink is shaping up to be the city's biggest ever Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender event, and will feature a vast array of market stalls, a main stage, a dance area, a family area, a street parade, celebrities, plus various DJs and artists putting in an appearance.
The colourful street parade will leave the Duke Of York at 11.30am and go through Derby city centre on its way to Bass's Rec.
Last year's event benefitted from fantastic weather conditions and enjoyed a bumper turnout that organisers are hoping to top this time around, putting Derby on the LGBT Pride map.
Derby Goes Pink is run totally by volunteers and relies on the support of the local community to make it happen.
