A TALENTED musical group from Belper has raised £1,460 for charity with a special one-off concert.
The ladies of Belper Musical Theatre took time out from their Copacabana rehearsals to perform ‘In the Pink’ at the Strutts Centre in the town.
Inspired by the personal experience of one of the group’s members, the money raised was split between Breakthrough Breast Cancer and the Treetops Hospice.
A spokeswoman for the group said: “The quality of singing was fantastic, with excellent harmonies and sensitive dynamics. Highlights were a medley from West Side Story and an arrangement of You Are So Beautiful and Wind Beneath My Wings. It was an intense and emotional evening and everyone involved should be very proud.”
The group is rehearsing Copacabana, which will be performed at Belper School in February.
