Halley’s Comet is set to light up Derbyshire’s night sky tonight (Tuesday).
The comet, which is usually seen once every 75 years, was not due to make an appearance again until 2061.
However, a trail of Halley’s cosmic dust is expected to be visible to the naked eye on Tuesday and Wednesday this week – wowing stargazers across the county.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “There will be a lot of cloud around but you might catch some clear spells. However, it will be very hit and miss.”
