The Earl of Harrington’s Angling Club has presented Autism East Midlands with a cheque for £2,650.

Club and charity representatives gathered at Allestree Park Lake to celebrate a year of fundraising which has included sales of fishing tackle, club matches, raffles and the annual fancy dress match.

Club treasurer Teresa Parr said: “Each season the club chooses a local charity to support. Autism East Midlands is close to the heart of many members who have family and friends affected by autism.”

A spokesman for the charity said: “We would like to thank the club for its generous support. The money raised will go far in supporting families touched by autism.”
