Derbyshire’s ambulance service bosses are commended

AMBULANCE BOSSES in Derbyshire has been commended for its work in taking action against those who commit violence and aggression against its staff.

Figures published today by NHS Protect show that East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) is top when it comes to supporting staff and taking action against those who commit violence and aggression against ambulance crews who are providing emergency medical help.

Nick Arnold, East Midlands Ambulance Service Security Management Specialist said: “The figures published by NHS Protect today make welcome reading because they show that our ambulance service does what we say – we do not tolerate violence or aggression against any member of our staff and we will take action against those who think nothing of assaulting our staff when they are trying to help someone in need.

“For the third year running we are the top performing ambulance service for managing and taking action on the incidents reported to us by our staff.”
