TWO NHS therapists, who have worked tirelessly on an innovative Derbyshire campaign, have been given a national award.
Andrea Robinson, who is based at Babington Hospital in Belper and Ruth Young, from Ilkeston Community Hospital, were named the overall winners at the 2012 Advancing Healthcare Awards.
The prestigious Advancing Healthcare Awards honour the best in patient care.
Both women have worked hard to raise awareness of how speech and language transform the lives of patients.
Andrea said: “Problems with speech and language imprison people and severely limit their participation in family life, the community, education and the world of work. Yet there is much that we can do to help people through speech and language therapy.”
