PET owners have been issued with a warning from RSPCA officers who cover the Belper area about not leaving pets in hot cars as temperatures remain high.

Temperatures have been about ten degrees higher than normal for the time of year.

A spokesman said: “While people are making the most of the sunshine pet owners are being warned not to leave their pets to cook in hot cars.

“All too often, owners make the mistake of thinking that it is sufficient to leave a bowl of water or a window open for their pet.”
