Hunt to find Belper’s king or queen of recycling

THE hunt is on to find Belper’s king or queen of recycling.

Derbyshire County Council is offering a prize of an eco-kettle and four recycled glasses to the winner.

Those who nominate someone will be put into a prize draw to win a battery charger and rechargeable batteries. Five nominators will win.

To become the King or Queen, judges will need to see evidence of a number of things.

The nominated person must recycle all mainstream materials consistently; make efforts to reduce the amount of rubbish they produce by doing things such as using food wisely, using charity shops and reusing bags; go the extra mile and do things like donate toys and recycle household batteries, electrical items and old tools; always make the effort to go to recycling banks and also encourage others to recycle.

To nominate your potential king or queen of recycling, write to us at Belper News, 27 Grosvenor Road, Ripley, DE5 3JE.

Alternatively, email your nomination to editor@belpernews.co.uk or phone 01773 514153.
