THE star of this week’s Rescue Me is a big rabbit with a big heart.

Smokey Joe is a two to three-year-old male rabbit who was taken in at the RSPCA centre in Derby as he was not getting on very well with the other rabbit he was living with. He may not be the best roommate, but he should have no problems on his own. And, because this black and white fellow is a little on the larger side, he will be in need a big hutch and run.

Communities manager at the Abbey Street shelter, Karen Carter, said: “Smokey Joe is a very nice and clever boy who loves to sit on your knee for fuss.”

If you are interested, give the centre a call on 01332 344620.

Alternatively, feel free to drop into the centre.

The centre is also home to dogs, cats and birds who are all on the lookout for a new home.
