egg-cited locals in the Belper are enjoyed an egg-cellent Easter packed full of fun events.

From an Easter Egg-stravaganza in Holbrook, to an Easter egg collection in Belper, everyone got into the spirit of things.

At Lancaster and Thorpe Opticians, in King Street, 50 Easter eggs were donated along with a variety of cuddly toys and Easter activities, and were all taken to the children’s ward at the Royal Derby Hospital.

In Holbrook, villagers celebrated Easter with an Egg-stravaganza on the Mellors Lane park. There was an egg design competition, egg and spoon races, and fancy dress, among activities.

More than 150 children who went along were given a Barry Colenso egg to mark the event.

Also youngsters at Strutts Primary School held an Easter egg competition, there was a ‘toddle waddle’ in Denby, and Milford Care Home held an Easter bonnet competition.
