Katie was on road

Rescue Me - Katie the dog.

THANKS to one of the RSPCA volunteers Katie was rescued from a busy road.

The helper used his initiative to capture Katie to make sure she was not struck by a passing car after spotting her roaming.

He removed the belt from his trousers and placed it around Katie’s neck as an impromptu collar and lead.

She later arrived at the animal centre in Abbey Street, Derby, cold and hungry and as is all too often the case, she did not have a microchip that could identify her history.

She is about a year old and is a very friendly and playful.

Karen Carter, community manager at the centre, said: “She just needs that special person to love and to care for her.

“Unfortunately like many dogs she is not too keen on cats and needs to be rehomed with children who are aged 11 plus.”
