Members of the Royal British Legion Women’s Section from across Derbyshire attended a presentation evening in Belper which saw £10,000 handed over to good causes.

Around 100 ladies from more than 20 women’s sections attended the event at Belper’s Masonic Rooms, which also celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Belper group.

The majority of the funds will be used to fund the legion’s work in supporting servicemen and their families.

The Belper Women’s Section raised £1,000 from holding a monthly coffee morning and an auction which added to the overall total.
