The Rotary Club of Belper and Duffield is again running its popular Tree of Light initiative for 2012.
Using Belper’s Christmas tree on Market Place, the appeal raises money for good causes and charity projects in the town and from further afield.
It does so by asking people to sponsor one of the tree’s festive lights in memory of a loved one or to mark a special anniversary.
It costs £5 to sponsor a light.
People can then get a poignant message inscribed in the Book of Dedications, which will be on show in the Christmas window display of the Joy Clarke soft furnishings shop on Market Place.
During the last two years, donations have been given towards equipment for summer youth activities and coaching at Belper Rugby Club and Belper Cricket Club.
If you want to sponsor a light, write down the name of the person the light is in memory of, your message, your name, address with postcode and phone number and drop it off with a £5 cheque payable to Belper and Duffield Rotary Club, at our Community Postbox at News Corner, King Street or Belper Moss Office Services, King Street, Belper,
Alternatively send it by post to the Rotary Project Organiser, 51 Sunnyhill, Milford, Belper, DE56 OQR.
