A MILFORD mum will be dishing up in a new look dining room after winning a make-over competition for her home. Linda Marples, of Bridge View, Milford, scooped the top prize of a free room makeover after giving her views on the recent work by Futures Homescape to paint the outside of her property.

More than 1,200 homes in Belper and nearby areas were given a fresh look outside by Ian Williams, Future Homescape’s painting contractor, who donated £1 to the housing and homeless charity Shelter for every feedback form returned by tenants.

Their names were entered into a prize draw for a chance to have a room in their house painted for free. Linda said: “I never win anything, so it was such a shock. My husband hates painting and decorating, so he is the real winner. We were pleased with the work done and it is lovely to be rewarded for saying what we thought about it.”

Contracts manager Dave Robinson said: “As an official sponsor of Shelter, we know the £212 raised from customers will be put to very good use.”
