Lingerie up in flames

TWO pallets of stock at a lingerie firm in Belper went up in flames during a blaze.

Firefighters were called to Aristoc, which is based in the West Mill, Bridgefoot, at 4.20pm on Monday, September 19, and found the stock, as well as a large pile of cardboard, on fire.

The pallets were removed from the warehouse and firefighters spent 20 minutes damping them down.

Crews from Belper had responded to an automatic fire alarm at the firm. They were joined at the scene by firefighters from the Nottingham Road fire station in Derby.

A fire service spokeswoman said no-one was injured in the blaze and that a fire investigation was being launched.

Firefighters remained atthe scene until 5.40pm.
