Youngsters at a Denby primary school have been learning more about how to stay safe when they are out and about.

PC Neil Hopwell from the Kilburn Safer Neighbourhood Team visited pupils at Street Lane Primary School to talk to them about ‘Stranger Danger’ and what to do if they get lost.

He was helped out by children’s character, Paddington Bear.

One of the school’s current educational topics is where are you? - and pupils have been learning about Paddington and what he gets up to on his adventures.

PC Hopwell said: “The children were very intrigued and eager to learn about different ways to keep themselves safe.

“They showed enthusiasm towards the session and it shows how much they are enjoying their current topic.

Teacher Amy Bestwick said: “After the session the children have designed lost posters are now planning to do an assembly.”
