A Bard day's work for Belper pupils

A GROUP of budding actors got Shakespeare sussed at a workshop at Belper School.

One of The Bard’s most famous plays was studied in the workshop, which let children aged 11 and above work towards a prestigious arts award.

They looked into the characters, themes, locations and techniques in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as part of their Bronze Arts Award, a professionally recognised arts qualification.

Hettie Robinson, who led the class, said: “It was to build confidence, and let the children get involved in a workshop and give them the chance to work with other children.”
