Anti-cancer jabs for Duffield girls
Young women in Duffield are being urged to contact their GP o organise cervical cancer jabs.
Appletree Medical Practice is holding a teenage health day on Saturday, July 4, where its young female patients can be given the HPV injection.
Appointments are fuly booked for the day, but bookings are now being taken for a similar event later in the summer.
Jane Careless, from Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust, said: "These clinics are a great way to remind girls they need to have their cervical cancer jabs and to get them to come along."
The HPV jab was launched last year as a way to protect young women against developing cervical cancer later in life.
Three injections are administered over a six month period.
