Councillors are expected to approve plans to make improvements to Victoria Park’s bandstand at a meeting next week.
Planning documents that detail the work say that old photographs and other historic resources will be used to restore the structure to its former glory.
The document also states: “Erewash Borough Council has gained support from the Heritage Lottery Fund for a series of developments including complete restoration to secure the long-term future of three key features within the historic park – the bandstand, the pavilion and the pergola arch.
“Planning permission is needed only for the bandstand works.”
Work will include the restoration of roof screens that made up the original bandstand which was first built in 1925.
The screens were previously removed for safe storage. They will be reinstalled as part of the project.
