Blaze was caused by over-filling with oil

A pick-up truck went up in flames after it was over-filled with oil.

Firefighters were called to Holbrook Road, Belper when a 4x4 started pouring with smoke.

The blaze was found to be in the engine compartment of the vehicle and was extinguished by the fire service before crews made the vehicle safe.

Police were informed of the incident but were not required to attend.

The fire broke out at around 11.30am on Saturday, February 9. Crews were also called to a chimney blaze at around 1.30pm in Over Lane, Belper on the same day.
