Burglar takes car and laptops after Duffield house raid

Police are appealing for information after a car was stolen from outside a house in Duffield.

A burglar crept into a house on Cumberhills Road in the village through the kitchen window before searching the house and taking a set of car keys.

The thief then drove off in a Peugeot 206 which was parked outside.

They also stole two laptops, credit cards and jewellery during the raid, which took place at some time between 2pm on Saturday, February 9 and 8.50pm on Sunday, February 10.

Latest statistics show there were 21 burglaries in Duffield during 2012, compared to 89 in nearby Belper.
