Call over Cinderhill scheme

THE mayor of Belper has urged residents to support a possible housing development at Cinderhill near Denby – so that it will ease the demand for new homes in the town.

A meeting of Belper Town Council heard about a proposal that had been put forward to regenerate the Cinderhill area.

It was said the development would be a ‘brand new town all in one place’. Cllr Alan Cox said: “There will be consultations on a new community in that area. The council urges Belper people to respond positively to it because it would restrict the pressure on Belper to have new houses.”

The consultations are at John Flamsteed School, Denby, on February 21 (4pm to 8pm), the Lion Hotel in Belper on February 23 (3pm to 7pm), and Ripley Leisure Centre on February 24 (3pm to 7pm).
