Canal given blue plaque honour

Cromford Canal is to be awarded a Blue Plaque to mark the pivotal role it played in the transformation of the Derwent Valley.

The waterway isthe first Derbyshire landmark to be recognised in such a way.

The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, March 12, at the High Peak Junction, Cromford Canal, at 2.30pm.
