A Belper-based care firm held a special trip for customers as part of a scheme to raise awareness about lonelieness among older people.
Bluebird Care (Derbyshire Dales & Amber Valley), which is located on Bridge Street, treated customers to a Peak District bus trip, shopping in Hartington and afternoon tea at the 18th century Charles Cotton Hotel. on October 6.
The trip was part of Bluebird’s national Silver Sunday scheme, which saw more than 40 similar events across the UK.
Susan King of Bluebird Care (Derbyshire Dales & Amber Valley), said: “We were keen to get involved with Silver Sunday because we provide care to a lot of people over 65 in our community.
“We understand that sometimes our care workers are the only people they see all day and we wanted to give them the opportunity to get out of the house, do something different and give them a treat.”
