A cat charity is offering people on low incomes who live in the Derbyshire area the chance to snap up neutering/spaying vouchers for only £10 each cat which represents a hugh saving to the owner.
Derby & District Branch of Cats Protection is offering these vouchers from 1pm to 3pm on Thursday, 26th September, at their charity shop at 31 Wardwick, Derby.
All owners have to do is take along proof of benefit (not their cats!) and they will be issued with as many vouchers as they need.
Anyone in receipt of Income Support, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit, Income-based Jobseekers’ Allowance, Pension Credit, Students, Child Tax Credit (with exemption card) and/or Working Tax Credit (with exemption card) can be helped.
A spokesman for the charity said: ”Our continuing cost-assisted voucher scheme aims to help stop the problem where it starts therefore reducing the number of abandoned and suffering cats in the area,” said Sylvia Plummer, Branch Volunteer. “Members of the public may not be aware that Cats Protection and most vets are now advocating that kittens can be neutered from 5 months of age.””
