Chilling out for charity at Belper's Iceland

Customers at Belper's Iceland store are enjoying a week of treats all in the name of charity.

The King Street store is joining shops in the Iceland chain all around the UK in spending the week fundraising for Help for Heroes.

The fun kicked off over the weekend and continued this week with events every day.

This picture was taken at a homemade cake sale at the store, which took place on Monday, August 23.

A book sale was also held in store on Tuesday, and Name the Teddy, a wine-picking competition and a fancy dress day are all on the way later this week.

Ann Hayward, who planned the activity week at the store, said: "We're hoping to raise 1,000 as a store, but every little helps when it's such a great charity.

All the staff have been enjoying it and we've had their families down helping out. It's been a real family event."

The activities were chosen by members of staff, as they had free reign over what they did for the week-long event.

By Monday the store had already raised a running total of 425, over just three days.

Help for Heroes, which raises money for troops returning wounded and affected from Afghanistan and Iraq and their families, is the chosen charity for Iceland this year.
