Council shake-up after top job is axed

A shake-up at the top of Amber Valley Borough Council has been approved following the departure of Chief Executive Peter Carney.

The new structure will see Executive Director of Finance, Sylvia Delahay, become Director of Resources. The Executive Director of Environmental Services, Julian Townsend, will also become Director of Operations alongside his role as Head of Paid Service.

Councillor Stuart Bradford said: “The extensive knowledge and experience they have both accumulated will maintain future stability”.

Mr Carney was made reduandant in December.
