Easter anti drink drive campaign

Young drivers will be the focus of an Easter drink driving campaign launched by police in Derbyshire.

The force said young men are consistently over-represented in drink-drive casualty figures and are more likely to admit to driving over the legal limit.

They will carry out targeted checks throughout March, with a particular focus on the Easter weekend.

Chief Inspector Steve Wilson, head of Roads Policing, said: “Our campaign is very much intelligence led which allows us to target those age groups who persistently drink and drive rather than conducting mass-testing.

“I would urge anyone with information about a drink driver to contact police and we will act on it wherever possible.”
