Belper Spring Fair returns to the town’s Coppice car park this week - and organisers have unveiled new attractions for this year’s event.
The fair – which will run from April 24 -26 – will feature six big rides, including the “Chill Out Miami” which is making its first appearance at the fair.
The “Giant Paratrooper” which made a successful debut last year is also set to return.
Organiser, Neil Calladine, said: “Thanks again to Belper Town Council we are able to hold prices at just £1.50 a ride.
“There will, as always, be lots for the children including Fun House, a Roller Coaster, bouncy castles, rides and games plus, of course, all the favourite fair foods including hot dogs and candy floss.”
The fair opens at 6pm on Thursday, April 24 and the same time on Friday, April 25.
On Saturday, April 26. the entertainment starts at 2pm.
Alternative free car parking can be found at the bottom of Derwent Street on the right hand side during the fair while The Coppice car park is closed.
The modern history of the fair dates back to at least the beginning of the nineteenth century, it fair was revived in 2011 following a 12-year absence in the town.
However its origins can be traced back to 1260 and illustrate the town’s historic links with the world of the fairground.
Last year up to 1,000 thrill-seekers turned out to enjoy the rides and soak up the atmosphere at the town’s ‘biggest ever’ Spring Fair. Sunshine on the Saturday of the event produced a particularly good turnout.
