French focus for cinema's festival
Belper's Ritz Cinema has just completed its first French film festival.
Audiences were treated to a weekend of the best of French cinema from the 1930s to new releases, along with talks and guests.
Eric Guirado, writer/director of rural comedy drama The Grocer's Son, held a question and answer session on Friday about his latest film, his other work and the French film industry.
On Saturday, a double bill of cult classics Delicatessen and The City of Lost Children was screened, and star of Delicatessen, Dominique Pinon attended.
He talked about his work on Delicatessen and other films for director Jean-Pierre Jeunet which have included performances in Amelie and A Very Long Engagement.
Dominique Pinon also enjoyed relaxing and chatting with his fans in the foyer during the evening, and joined Eric Guirado in complimenting Ritz owners Amanda Mundin and Neil Roberts on their luxurious cinema.
Amanda Mundin, said: "The weekend was fabulous!
"We'll be doing it again next year and it'll be bigger and even better."
