Grand opening of the new play area at Openwoodgate playgroup

A Belper playgroup has staged a grand opening for its new state-of-the-art play area funded with £9,600 in National Lottery cash.

Openwoodgate Playgroup, at St Mark’s Church, invited children and parents along to the event with local people who have been involved in the project.

Children were entertained by a tribue act to CBeebies star Mr Tumble and then the fun moved outside to officially open the play area and show off all the new toys.

Improvements include a play surface made from shredded tyres which has hotspots and balance lines making it much safer. The grant was awarded by the Big Lottery Fund.
