A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: “The van driver suffered only minor cuts and bruises and paramedics had to treat a local man who was in the Jaguar.

“The van also ended up embedded in a wall which created traffic difficulties and the road had to be temporarily closed.”

Police told how the road was reopened about 6pm and the driver of the Jaguar is in a stable condition and has not suffered any life threatening injuries.

Photographer Neil Upton captured the scene on camera, as pictured, when he was driving from Bakewell.
