Nether Heage mum Cheryl Roulston will be taking part in a charity fundraiser to help victims of diabetes – a cause very close to her heart.
Cheryl will be completing a gruelling 20k exercise work-out session on a cross-training gym machine on Saturday.
Cheryl, 51, reckons the stunt will take her two-and-half hours to complete and she will be doing it at Ripley Leisure Centre.
And while Cheryl completes her challenge, her son Lee, 32, who currently lives in Indianapolis, America, will be doing the Indianapolis 20k marathon event.
She said: “I currently am attending Weightwatchers and decided that I wanted to do some sort of a challenge to help me along with my weight loss.
“The charity was easy as my sister, Michele, suffers from type 2 diabetes and regularly goes into diabetic comas, slowly her organs are beginning to fail.
“Michele is a great inspiration to me and never complains. She just says there is always someone worse off than herself.“
Cheryl says she chose the day for her challenge to coincide with her son’s run.
She started training in January with the intention of doing 10k run.
Her training was hard at first, but she had built up her stamina and is now confident of completing her own gruelling work-out.
She has set up a Just Giving page and originally set her self a fundraising target of £250 and has already exceeded that.
